People have been getting in to 4-5 team farm groups to kill the elite bosses in SF for green drops then selling the green drops.

Unfortunatly since Anet has patched up many farming favorite spots and builds, golds don't drop as much nowadays as they used to. It's become harder to do so in the usual places because of added monstrers tougher monsters etc.. etc...
The Griffons won't give you the ammount of gold items and money that you where used to but they will give decent stuff. Try different places, monsters and builds. Or maybe form small groups of 3-5 ppl to go farming tougher areas. Try Sorrows furnace (Go to camp rankor and ask for a runners there.) You have chances of getting green and other items |

Lately I've been farming Crystal Desert area (To get to level 18 for Thirsty River, and also for the cash ^_^)
It gets pretty good cash and drops... Okay, well not great drops, but nice cash. |

By far the fastest way is to go south of the Granite Citadel, however, if you do not have that town on the map, it can also be reached by heading north from Camp Rankor through Snake Dance, though this way is pretty far, but there are always people looking for groups.
P.S. Make sure to stop by the Deldrimor War Camp, as it will make subsequent trips to the furnace a hell of a lot faster |

Too the many people who are looking for the "get rich QUICK" scheme::
Well, there is NO such thing. There are however faster methods and fast methods. But time in GW is all relative. In other words, 1 hour taken to gain 10k is fast to some, and slow to others. One word can be used to describe how the "elite rich" got rich. And that word is:: PERSEVERANCE (or persistance, for you slow people, lol)!! For example if you do griffon runs consistantly, have a good method down, then it is possible to net around 10k or more per hour. This can vary and obiously hits way lower sometimes. Since this is a pure grind-work, cash making method and nearly zero rare items drop, it all boils down to persistance! After 2 hours, you can net 20k or more, 3 hrs 30k or more....etc etc etc Got it? Get it? Good!! Because the same rules apply for all money generating methods, all farming spots and all running business locations. Even if you can get 5k per person on a droknars forge run... There are no guarantees that you will get fully paid due to ditchers, ppl who drop, etc etc == meaning persistance, again. That all make sense? This post is aimed at all farmers, and "im poor, how do i make money" people... So, pick your favorite spot, figure out how much money you gain per hour and be persistant whatever farming method you take!!! Cheers to economy! Enjoy! I don't understand why people think hardly any golds drop. I get a gold drop at least 1/3 runs (run is about 6-10 minutes) while killing griffons. And a purple just about every time. I'd say I get 5k an hour + those golds and purples. About every 10-15 runs I'll get an item that sells for over 7k. And I do this a lot, so I ain't lying, it seems like a lot of these people talk about the griffon runs but don't do it themselves.

^^^ exactly^^^ >>> Smi77y is on teh same page. I meant nearly zero cause for most people, they have gotten it completely nerfed for themselves from farming that spot so much. I also get golds about 1/2 times and purples almost always too!
err sorry post spam? |

So it's nerfed the more you do it? or just worse than it used to be so people whine about it, I think the gold drop is more than fair. Plus the odds it's a really good gold is very very slim. But thx for clarifying

You can always farm ebay. =)
If you solo griffs, the gold drops and merchant sells can actually get you around 10k an hour...if youre gonna farm that long. |

An average griffon run takes me 5-6 minutes.
This includes leaving town, killing them, and selling to merchants and ready to leave again. I timed myself on 5 separate runs and they're all around there. Selling everything I get to the merchant except wings, horns, and the occasional good rare, I get about 1.2k per run. Thus, if done continuously, you can make about 12-15k in an hour not including whatever rares you might find on the way. I used to go at griffons for 2-3 hours continuously, until I got really bored of it. Now I can't do more than 3 runs at one go. |
